Progress is being made at the Rushville Villas as plans to opening their doors in just a few short months continue. On Monday, contractors took advantage of the sunshine and could be seen adding vinyl siding to one of the units. Plans for the apartment complex have been in the works for several years, shared Grace Peacock, with KDC Properties and property manager of Rushville Villas. This specific complex is KDC's largest endeavor yet.
Based out of Knightstown, KDC Properties specialize in building in a smaller scale and focus on building in small towns to help support local economic opportunities. They also use local businesses for supplies and materials and local contractors and sub-contractors throughout the entire planning and building process.
Peacock shared her excitement and hopefulness in bringing one of the few market rate apartments to Rush County. “Currently, we have three buildings with eight units in each buildings,” Peacock shared. There is, however, the potential for an additional four buildings, which would offer further residential opportunities. Peacock stated, “We are looking at opening our first two buildings in April and our third in May.” Applications are now being taken as possible tenants are being placed on a waiting list.
