If looking for a new pet, the Rushville Animal Shelter has plenty of dogs and cats available for adoption.

Featured is Dottie, a female 4-year-old Mountain Cur. Dottie is noted as a very sweet girl believed to be dumped out in the county once she served her purpose raising her puppies (which were not located with her). She is your typical hound and has her nose to the ground almost 24/7. She enjoys spending her day exploring the outside on walks with our volunteers that stop in and getting affection from staff at the shelter.  She's already received a heartworm test (negative), received heartworm preventative, flea preventative, dewormer, a parvo/distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, spayed and will leave with a lifetime registration microchip.

The adopter can also take their adoption contract to the Rushville Tractor Supply for a free bag of food. To see more dogs available for adoption, visit the Rushville Animal Shelter page and click on the album “Dogs available for adoption.”
