The Rush County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chamber dinner on Thursday, Oct. 28. at the Rush County Elks Club. 

Sandy Fussner began by sharing an update for the Chamber from 2020.Due to the pandemic, every event Fussner had scheduled was cancelled. Fussner explained the toll the pandemic took on local businesses, and how the chamber is working to assist these local businesses in their recovery and future success.

After guests enjoyed the dinner provided by the Elks, the 2021 Citizen of the Year Award was presented to Jeri McCorkle, and the Pride of Rush County was presented to guest speaker and Milroy native, Mark Mitchell.

McCorkle is well known in the Rushville community for her commitment to volunteering for the citizens of Rush County.
“You take care of each other,” McCorkle stated. “That’s just what you do.”

Guest speaker Mark Mitchell, who was awarded the 2021 Pride of Rush County, is a proven leadership strategist who teaches individuals and teams how to implement strategies for success and accountability. Mitchell was one of the top executives with American Airlines and was a disengaged spokesmam and customer experience leader in navigating crisis, mergers, and communications with media.
