Clyde M. Ellis 86 of Rush County, passed away November 22, 2020 in Indianapolis. He was born August 10, 1934 in Marion County to Frank and Cuba (Martin) Ellis, both deceased. Clyde was a 1952 graduate of Manilla High School. He married Marcia Kay Weidner on January 24, 1954 and she survives. He served in the US Army Reserves for 7 years.
Clyde is survived by his wife Marcia Kay, sons Rick (Sharon) Ellis, Bruce (Sandy) Ellis, and daughters Cinda (John) Pavey, Karen (Mark) Harpring, all of Rushville and Rush County; 14 grandkids, and 34 great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by brothers Marion, Ed and Lee Ellis.
Clyde retired in 1988 as Asst. VP of the Arlington State Bank. He worked in banking for nearly 28 years, beginning at Rushville National Bank, then Rush County National Bank and retired from Arlington State Bank. He was a loan officer for the majority of his time in banking.
Clyde was a founding member of the Rush County Muskrats, 50-year member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge #62 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He was a past member of the Rushville Elk's Lodge, past auditor of the Rushville Eagles Lodge and the Rushville American Legion. Clyde was former president and secretary-treasurer of the Manilla Lions Club. He also was active in the Rush County Chamber of Commerce, past president of the United Fund and the Manilla Alumni Association.
Services will be private for the family. Burial will be in the Goddard Cemetery in Rush County. Masonic rites will be observed.
