Phillip V. Starkey, 71, a long time Rushville resident, passed away April 12, 2021 at his home in Rushville. Phil was born January 7, 1950 in Rushville to Verle & Norma (Adams) Starkey. He was a 1968 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Phil married Lou Meer on April 5, 1975 and she survives.
He retired in 2010 from Indalex where he worked in sales and was plant manager. He had also worked for HH Robertson in Connersville and Patrick Industries in Elkhart.
Phil had a big personality. He never met a stranger & prided himself in never forgetting a face. He enjoyed good conversation & always took time to talk to people. He enjoyed Sunday cruises in his corvette.
He was Past Exulted Ruler at the Rushville Elk's Lodge #1307 where he had been a member for 49 years. He loved to play golf, watch Formula One racing and the Indianapolis Colts. He loved sports cars, especially corvettes.
Phil is survived by his wife; Lou, of Rushville, his sons; John (Miranda) Starkey of Rushville and Dan Starkey of Carthage, his daughters; Lauren (Craig) Click of Indianapolis and Katie (Todd) Brackman of Rays Crossing, a brother; Tim (Janie) Starkey of Rushville and his grandchildren; Vivian & Emmett Starkey, Lincoln, Adelyn & Charlotte Click and Hunter, Jack & Madelynn Brackman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Claudia Starkey.
Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, April 17, 2021 in Moster Mortuary , Rushville with Tim Starkey presiding over services. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 10 AM until time of services on Saturday. There will be an Elk's Memorial service at 1 PM Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rushville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elk's Clothe-A-Child, the Rushville Public Library or to Rush County Cancer thru RCCF.
