Plans have been underway for the 200th anniversary of Rush County for over a year, and at the kick-off of 2022, Rush Co. residents will see the kick-off of a year-long celebration.

Brain Sheehan shared that the main celebration would be during Willkie Days 2022 but said the Bicentennial would be celebrated all year.
Rush Co. Historian John Wilson has been building the momentum for the celebration with a monthly article full of Rush Co. history since the beginning of 2021.

Although there are many things left to do by the official Bicentennial Committee, Sheehan sat down to share a few sneak peeks of what is yet to come.

Accompanying the article is the reveal of the official Rush Co. Bicentennial logo. The design was created locally by Shelly Designs. A bicentennial history book will be available for purchase (possibly by December 2020). A children's bicentennial coloring book celebrating the last 200 years will be distributed to Rush Co. elementary schools. Throwback Rush Co. t-shirts with all the nostalgic Rushville landmarks and logos will be available, making a perfect souvenir. A movie has also been done in honor of the celebration.
